In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, residents on the East Coast are slowly getting back to normal.  Police, firefighters, and military personal are working hand in hand to clean up the devastation from the storm.  In order to aid in the cleanup, the Michigan State Police Department have sent 24 uniformed officers to New Jersey.

According to MLive.com, Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue, director of the Michigan State Police said:

I am proud our department is able to quickly answer the call from New Jersey for additional law enforcement personnel to help protect public health and safety following Hurricane Sandy

This is the second time that officers from the Michigan State Police have provided assistance outside of the state of Michigan.  The other time was in 2005 during the wake of Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana.
