Man Tries To Surprise Wife With Breakfast In Bed, Gets Shot

Being a good husband, didn't work out so well for this guy!

WTVR in Fayetteville, North Carolina reports that a man was shot last week after he tried to surprise his wife with breakfast in bed.

According to police, the man left for work, and after his wife said goodbye, she set the house alarm and crawled back into bed.

The husband then came back home to surprise his wife with breakfast, but when he walked through the front door he triggered the alarm. Police say the wife shot the husband in the chest through the couple's closed bedroom door.

Police believe the wife was on edge because of recent home break-ins in the area.

The husband is okay, and recovering at home. No word on what kind of breakfast was being served.
