Kidd’s Kids: Make A Difference in a Sick Child’s Life
As a kid, I was lucky to be healthy. Getting my tonsils out was the most traumatic it got, and really, I just remember eating lots of popsicles. Good health was, and still kind of is, something I take for granted. Even now, I don’t know what I’d do if I got really sick. I can’t imagine being a child and having a terminal illness– the tests and surgeries, the pain, worrying about your parents and siblings. Not to mention missing out on the fun– the birthday parties, the school trips, even just going outside to play. And when I think about any possible way to help, I don’t know where to start. Is there anything that I can do to help these kids? The answer is yes.
You hear Kidd Kradick every weekday morning on Channel 957. It’s a lot of goofy stuff– jokes, lots of talk about celebrities and current events. But you should know that there is way more going on than just a good time– Kidd’s Kids is an amazing program that each year sends chronically and terminally ill children and their families to Walt Disney World. Kidd’s Kids takes care of everything–airfare, hotel, park passes, meals, souveniers. The goal is to make this a trip of a lifetime, where for 5 days these kids can forget about being sick, about being different. They can play, they can just be kids. They take get lost in the magic of Disney World.
This coming Thursday, October 6th is Kidd’s Kids Day. This is the day dedicated to raising funds to help these children have an amazing, joy-filled, adventure. You can help. You can make a difference. Donate via text, phone, or online.
