Cardboard Sled Derby
Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at Cannonsburg
6800 Cannonsburg Road, Belmont, MI

Registration and Race Times:
- Registration begins at 2:30pm
- Judging of sleds begins at 3pm
- Races begin at 4pm
Rules and Regulations:
- You may only use cardboard, tape or paint to build your sled
- Your sled must pass inspection in order to be allowed on the hill
- Your sled must be free of sharp edges, pointy objects, or any other feature that may be deemed dangerous.
- You may not use tar based substances, epoxy glue, fiberglass resin, glues that harden into solids,
- You may not use screws or any sort of mechanical fasteners, nails, staples
- Only seams and joints may be taped, not the entire sled
- Your sled may not be wrapped in plastic, tape, shrink wrap or anything else
- You must be able to stop your sled. Keep this important feature in mind when designing and building your sled.
- No fighting or snow ball throwing will be permitted
- Other teams or spectators who purposely try to harm a participants race time will be immediately ejected without a refund
- Each team must fill out and sign a liability release form upon team check in
Participation:
- The pilot must read and understand all of the rules to register their sled
- All riders must read and understand the rules
- If you do not pass inspection, you will not be allowed to participate and your registration fee will not be refunded
- All sled riders must provide and wear protective head gear
- No more than two riders will be permitted on any one sled
- To qualify as a finisher, you must be in or on your sled rather than chasing it or being chased by it as you cross the finish line
- At the end of the finish line there will be bonus spots. If any teams hit the bonus spots, they will receive the following:
- Bonus Spot 50 (2) – 3 seconds off finish time
- Bonus Spot 100 – 5 seconds off finish time
Awards: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place will be awarded
- Fastest Time
- Best Costume/Sled Creativity
- Best Crash (1st place only)
