Wrong Way Driver on 131 Caught on Camera [Video]

A scary situation unfolded Monday night on US-131 near Martin.

WOOD-TV 8 reports an elderly man with dementia was driving north in the southbound lanes around 11:20 p.m. Police clocked the driver at about 60 m.p.h.

State police tried to stop the driver, but he went around their cruisers. He was eventually stopped further up the road.

During the incident Allegan County deputies, Otsego County deputies, Wayland and Gun Lake tribal police all worked together to shut down on-ramps to keep the public safe.

Thankfully no one was hurt.
