Michigan is on the verge of being in a drought all across the state if rain doesn't come soon.  Most of West Michigan is only considered to be 'Abnormally Dry' according to the United States Drought Monitor, but large parts of Central Michigan and Southeast Michigan are already experiencing drought conditions.

The US Drought Monitor has bad news for farmers because 66% of Michigan topsoil was rated as having short or very short moisture levels.  Michigan State University’s Enviroweather station co-director, Jeff Andresen, says that Michigan’s precipitation has been 25% less than average for the year.  The areas of that have been hit the hardest are parts of Wayne, Jackson, Shiawassee, Saginaw, Bay, Huron, Midland, and Mason counties.
