The West Michigan radio community is reeling today after the news of the passing of one of our own has spread. Bill Bailey, who could be heard on two of our stations (WLHT and WTRV) for over a decade passed away this morning at a golf outing.

Bill worked here in the building at Townsquare Media when I started working here, which seems like a million years ago (only 6). He taught me a lot about the broadcasting industry in the short time I worked for him, and was truly a great man, and mentor to many.

Former colleagues, friends, employees, and people who only knew him in passing and professionally, have been speaking out about him over the course of the days on Facebook:

Bill will be missed by all who knew him. He was a great man, who befriended many, and was an amazing boss/coach/and co-worker to all.

Said Tom Cook, current Brand Manager for WLHT and WTRV,

I'm sad to say that aside from his radio career, I didn't know Bill. But based on the stories my employees and coworkers have shared, and the deep respect they all had for Bill, I know he was a great man, a great radio programmer, and a great coach - and will be sorely missed.

And all of us at Townsquare Media send thoughts and prayers to Bill's family and friends at this time.

Rest in peace, Bill. You died while involved in two of the things you loved most - radio and golf.
