A police officer in Traverse City had an eventful Thursday evening!

According to the Record Eagle, Officer Adam Gray revived a woman from an overdose and stopped another from committing suicide. Reports say both incidents happened within 10 minutes of each other.

The the first call came in just after 11 p.m. Gray was called to help a 21-year-old woman who was suffering from a potential overdose. The officer knew this woman used heroin and was able to bring her back after giving her a shot of Naloxone, which reverses an overdose. The woman was then taken to the hospital where she survived.

A few minutes later Gray was called to a downtown bridge where a woman was sitting on the railing, looking to jump. People passing by tried to talk the woman down. Gray had recognized the 41-year-old from another call and was able to call her by name. She looked at him, made a lunging motion, and Gray grabbed her. There was a brief struggle, but police were able to get her off the ledge.

Gray told the Record Eagle, "We're sent to these calls. We just did what we're trained to do and, ultimately, it ended a good night for everyone involved."

Well done officer!
