Police want to know who pointed a laser into the cockpit of a plane trying to land at Gerald R. Ford International Airport.

The incident happened Tuesday morning, according to Fox 17.

The Kent County Sheriff's Office was attempting to locate the person, or persons, who aimed a laser pointer into the cockpit while a non-commercial plane was attempting to land. The good news is the pilot was able to land the plane with no issues.

Why is this dangerous? According to multiple websites, the light could hit the pilot's eye and cause a glare. This could also cause temporary blindness, which could create a vital safety issue on board an aircraft.
