Brick and mortar bookstores are becoming harder and harder to come by. With the invention of ereaders, many have taken all of their reading digital to conserve time, money and space. But, if you're like me, you still like the feeling of having the physical book in your hand, still love browsing through the rows and rows of books at bookstores, and have a deep love for "new book smell."

Schuler Books in Grand Rapids had to close the doors of two of their three stores in Grand Rapids the past couple years, but their store at 2660 28th Street SE remains. They decided to parody Lorde's "Royals" with their own version "Indies" to discuss the advantages of going to a bookstore as opposed to just downloading books.

The video -- written, performed, and directed by Emily Galer (promotions coordinator at Schuler Books) and starring several other Schuler Books employees -- discusses how great customer service is at bookstores, how they know which book you're looking for even if you only have a vague idea of what the book's cover looks like and also hits in their support of publishers and up-and-coming writers.
