Max is a handsome five-year-old Cocker Spaniel from the Humane Society of West Michigan, and he came to visit me.

Max, is an American Cocker Spaniel, which is ranked the 23rd most popular breed in the U.S. according to registration statistics of the American Kennel Club in 2009.

Cocker Spaniels were originally bred as hunting dogs in the United Kingdom, with the term cocker deriving from their use to hunt the Eurasian Woodcock. When the breed was brought to the United States, it was bred to a different standard, which enabled it to specialize in hunting the American Woodcock.

Jen, from the Humane Society of West Michigan, brought Max into the studios. Max and his brother both came in to the Humane Society as strays, but since arriving at the Humane Society he has been well taken care of. He has been neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, and socialized, and is now ready for adoption.

You can get all the information on Max and adopting, by visiting the Humane Society's website or by calling (616) 453-8900.

Jen also mentioned that it’s not too early to think about Summer Camp. Your kids will have a ball with all of the different Summer Camp opportunities available at the Humane Society.  You’ll find all of the information also on their website.
