After much speculation, we know one thing about Mark Wahlberg's visit to West Michigan this week: it had NOTHING to do with his Wahlburgers restaurants.

Wahlberg made it offical yesterday when he revealed that two new Michigan locations of Wahlburgers would be opening in Michigan, but they would be in the Detroit suburbs of Royal Oak and Taylor.

According to the Detroit Metro Times, Wahlberg made the official announcement at the location of his intial Wahlburgers in the Greektown business district in Detroit.

"I've had wonderful experiences working here (in Michigan)," he told FOX 2. "Such great, hard working people. To be able to share my family experience with all of the people in Detroit and their families, it's a blessing."

Many had speculated that his recent journey to Grand Rapids on Wednesday may have something to do about a Wahlburgers coming to Metro GR, but now it looks like he may have been pitching Meijer for some floor space at their stores for his Performance line of fitness supplements.

Or maybe he just wanted to play golf in February in Michigan. Who the hell knows?
