Lottery Fail: Woman Goes on Shopping Spree Thinking She Hit the Jackpot

You've heard people say "double check your work." The same thing applies for the lottery. Always double check your numbers.

If only this woman would've listened.

The Toronto Sun reports that a French woman who thought she hit the jackpot has racked up thousands of dollars in bills. The woman thought she had won and celebrated by going on a massive shopping spree. Only to find out that she was off by ONE number. Ouch.

She had spent over $4000 before her husband rechecked her ticket and realized she hadn't actually won anything.

Because she had spent more than she could owe, the woman burned her purse and claimed it had been stolen. Security footage of her shopping sprees proved otherwise.

Her jail sentence has been suspended for now and she must pay all the money back.
