To be honest, I have never heard of such a thing or even heard of this fruit until I came across this article on Simplemost.com.

it could reach up to 80 pounds!! It is native to South and Southeast Asia and is a part of the fig family. That's kind of interesting - part of the fig family, yet tastes like pork. Not to mention, it looks nothing like pork.

Apparently, it is becoming widely popular in the U.S. as a meat substitute, especially for pork and pulled pork dishes.

Jackfruit can be baked, fried and barbecued, and after an hour of cooking is when it's said to taste like pork. You can probably find it at your local Asian market.

I guess this could be perfect for someone who lives a vegetarian lifestyle and is curious about the taste of pork. But me? I'll just stick to the real thing.

Have you ever had the Jackfruit? If so, what do you think of its taste?
