I think this story is good news for anyone who feels GUILTY about how much they love their dog.

A new study found it IS possible to love your dog just about as much as you love your BABY.

Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital looked at brain scans of people reacting to their dogs and their babies.

They found that the brain regions for emotions and rewards lit up similarly for photos of your dog and baby.  When people looked at photos of other people's dogs and babies, their brains didn't light up the same.

Now . . . before you think the world has gone totally crazy, there was at least SOME difference.  When people saw their babies, a part of the brain associated with bonding lit up . . . that didn't light up the same for their dogs.

So, people DO feel bonded with their babies more than their dogs . . . but it's damn close.
