Study Says if You Stay Friends With an Ex You May Be a Psychopath

Are you someone who thinks it's okay to be friends with your ex? Are you friends with anyone you previously dated? If so, you could be a psychopath.

A new study from Oakland University, in Michigan, found that people who stay friends with their exes have more "dark personality traits," such as selfishness or narcissism. Teen Vogue says these people keep their past lovers around for "practical" reasons.

Basically, it means they keep you around for selfish reasons - reasons that would personally benefit them.

The study says the main reasons people stay friends after a breakup because their ex was reliable, trustworthy or if there was a strong sentimental attachment."

The study also found that more men stay friends with an ex and, obviously, hooking up was a big part of it.
