When staying at a hotel you expect everything to be clean, right? The cleanliness of rooms is one of the many secrets hotels are trying to keep. Here is a list of a few more secrets they don't want you to know.

  • Rooms are cheaper at night, but more expensive to leave at night.
  • If you use one of the toiletries, take it. The hotel can't reuse toiletries, so they toss them after your stay.
  • Rooms on the top floor have higher ceilings; and corner rooms have more space, no matter what floor.

Most of all, frequently used items such as television remotes, light switches, and door handles are cleaned the least. Glassware and coffee pots are not cleaned between each guest, and linens are not cleaned as frequently as sheets.
