Last week's ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey ranked the country's 100 largest metropolitan areas after surveying 11,000 employers.

The results show Grand Rapids has the strongest net employment outlook for July, August and September of 2017.

Nationwide 24 percent of employers plan to add staff in the third quarter. That's two percent higher than one year ago. 70 percent expect to keep their workforce intact. Four percent expect workforce reductions.

Grand Rapids leads the country with a projected net employment for Q3 of 36 percent followed by Raleigh (32 percent), Charlotte (31 percent), Colorado Springs (31 percent) and Des Moines (30 percent).

State rankings show employers in Michigan, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Rhode Island with the strongest outlooks.
