Girl Dials 911 After Touching Elf On A Shelf

A 7-year-old girl from New Jersey is getting some attention after calling 911 because she was afraid she ruined Christmas.

WOOD-TV reports Isabelle LaPeruta was worried because legend has it (and according to the Elf on a Shelf book) Christmas will go away if the elf is touched. Isabelle says the elf fell to the floor after a ball she was playing with hit him. She immediately regretted touching the elf after he fell, so she dialed 911.

She asked the operator to NOT come to the house because she was trying to call her dad, but since police are required to check on such calls, an officer was dispatched.

Her mother says she woke up from a nap to find Isabelle trying to get the responding officer to leave the house. Mom told the officer that Isabelle panicked, the officer then headed back to his car and told dispatch "Isabella apologized, she touched the Elf on a Shelf and she won't call 911 again."
