The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce just announced who they are adding this year to the Hollywood Walk of Fame for 2018 and one of the names is a former West Michigan local!

Gillian Anderson (of X-Files fame) is one of the 34 stars getting their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and YES, she used to live in Grand Rapids.

It was when she was a kid, her parents moved to Grand Rapids when Gillian was 11 years old.  She ended up living here through elementary and high school before she moved back to Chicago, where she’s from, to go to the Theater School at Depaul University.

Her Wikipedia page says she went to Fountain Elementary and then City High-Middle School and that she also interned with the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre & School of Theatre Arts.

Stop after you read that part though because it also says she loves London and considers that home, which means we probably won’t have any awesome sightings of Gillian around West MI like we do with that adorable couple, Kristen and Dax.

Gillian will join a pretty good list of stars who are also getting a star on the “Walk of Fame” including:

Minnie Mouse

Nick Nolte

Taraji P. Henson

Mary J. Blige

Lin-Manuel Miranda

Niecy Nash

Simon Cowell
