Susan G. Komen® West Michigan will host its annual Powerfully Pink event at Watermark Country Club on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
Powerfully Pink provides an opportunity for Komen West Michigan to honor those in the community who have used their position and power to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer.
This year, Michigan’s First Lady and 11-year breast cancer survivor, Sue Snyder, will serve as the event’s keynote speaker. As a breast cancer survivor, she is very passionate about working with a variety of cancer awareness and prevention initiatives. Breast cancer has affected her personally not only through her own battle, but through her mother and grandmother as well.
In addition to hearing Sue Snyder’s story, Komen West Michigan will recognize two individuals who have supported of the Affiliate by raising awareness and helping in the fight against this terrible disease. The program will also honor Komen West Michigan’s 2014-2015 community grant recipients. These local organizations provide quality breast health services for underserved individuals using funds raised right here in West Michigan.
