The Pillar Award is West Michigan’s only prestigious business award that showcases West Michigan employers who empower women at work. Award recipients will be publicly honored at the 23rd annual Pillar Award luncheon on March 14, 2012 in front of 500 business and community leaders. This award was created by Women’s Resource Center in 1987 to showcase the innovative "best practices" of area employers and with the purpose to encourage replication of policies and practices that improve the recruitment, retention and advancement of working women. Join 100.5 The River and the Women's Resource Center in honoring the 2012 Pillar Award Winners.

This year, Axios, Aquinas College and Herman Miller Inc. are being honored. The awards luncheon will be held March 14 at the JW Marriott and seats are still available for $50 each. All proceeds from the event go to support the programs of the Women's Resource Center that give women strategies for work and skills for life so they can find work, careers, education and advance to their highest desired level.
