Viral Drones from Detroit Lions Playoff Games Coming to 2024 Coast Guard Festival

Grand Haven's Coast Guard Festival is one of the biggest weeks of the year for the Lake Michigan coastal city. And, this year is extra special because the event is turning 100 years old.

To celebrate their landmark year, the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven will have a brand new attraction r that aims to be the first of its kind in the whole world. They're adding something that could have never been imagined 100 years ago to the show: Drones

Michigan-based drone show company, Starlight Aerial Productions, announced that they will be adding multiple drone shows to this year's Coast Guard Festival lineup. That name may not mean anything to you, but they recently went viral when they did the drone show above Ford Field when the Detroit Lions went to the playoffs.

Officials said that on Friday night, they're going to be doing a full drone show that's choreographed with the musical fountain, which has never been done anywhere in the world before.

The drones aren't the only thing that have already been announced for this summer's festival. According to their website, we can also expect the return of the Cardboard Boat Race Competition, where brave "sailors" can build their own boats out of boxes or anything cardboard they can find, and try to float them at the Waterfront Stadium for us to all enjoy.

While the other events haven't been announced yet, we can expect some awesome stuff to be announced as we get closer to the event's 100th anniversary. So, make sure you keep your calendar clear to celebrate Coast Guard City USA Friday July 26th - Sunday August 4th.
