Crime Rate Down In Grand Rapids

Here’s some good news, crime in Grand Rapids is down!

WZZM 13 News reports there were less homicides, rapes, robberies, burglaries and larcenies in 2014 compared to 2013. Crimes such as vehicle thefts and aggravated assaults increases from 2013 to 2014.

On Thursday, The Grand Rapids Police Department released new numbers on their website.

Here are a few numbers:

  • Homicide down 65%
  • Rape down 13%
  • Robbery down 5%
  • Burglary down 27%
  • Larceny down 11.5%
  • Motor Vehicle thefts up 25%
  • Aggravated Assaults up 12%
