It wasn't the most charitable features a church ever created.

This is actually pretty sick. Homeless people who would seek shelter at night outside a Catholic church in San Francisco were surprised when they realized a sprinkler was installed above the doorway.

Reports say that Saint Mary's Cathedral installed these sprinklers specifically to keep the homeless out of it's covered doorway. The church says the sprinklers were installed as a safety, security and cleanliness measure because trash as being left behind by the homeless.

The archdiocese issued a statement saying the sprinklers will be uninstalled, but because they were installed without proper city permits. The church as also apologized and said the sprinklers were installed to encourage the homeless to relocate to other areas of the cathedral.
