WZZM-13: 40-Vehicle Pileup on U.S. 31 in Northern Muskegon County

WZZM-13 reports Southbound US-31 has reopened in northern Muskegon County after a multi-vehicle accident involving dozens of vehicles.

The pileup happened just before noon Wednesday in between White Lake Drive and Russell Road.

Jim Jefferies, Nick Thune, Brody Stevens Among Comedians Added for Gilda’s LaughFest 2015

Jim Jefferies, Nick Thune and Brody Stevens, Costaki Economopoulos, Blackout Diaries, Big Jay Oakerson with Ben Roy, The Homegrown Show and Ryan Hamilton have been added to the roster of performers for Gilda's LaughFest 2015 in March.

In addition, Iliza Shlesinger has added new shows on March 7 to her LaughFest appearance after selling out her two previously announced shows.

Gilda’s LaughFest runs March 5 to 15, with individual tickets for all performances going on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

Grand Haven Cross that Drew Criticism Will Become an Anchor

Grand Haven city officials have approved plans to convert a 48-foot-tall cross on city-owned property overlooking the Grand River into an anchor.

The Muskegon Chronicle reports that the Grand Haven City Council approved a resolution Monday on a 3-2 vote to limit access to the Dewey Hill property as well as change the cross, which had faced criticism from local residents and a religious organization.

Muskegon’s ‘Sweetheart Swindler’ Arrested in Florida

Jeffrey Lucas is back behind bars after being arrested in Florida.

The man who was referred to as the "Sweetheart Swindler" met as many as eight women online, started a dating relationship in person, and then scammed each of the women out of money based upon a variety of lies. He was arrested, bonded out, and then did not appear for his next scheduled court hearing.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘The Woman in Black’ Can’t Stop ‘The Hobbit’

After the jam-packed month of December, with its huge family-friendly blockbusters and awards season Oscar bait, we have arrived in the month of January. Formerly a dumping ground for mediocre films, the month has taken on a new identity in the past few years as a testing ground for unique genre films (think ‘Cloverfield’) and a solid place to release a horror movie, which seems to do quite well right around New Year’s for whatever reason. This year, we have ‘The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death,’ which had a fairly solid opening. Not solid enough to topple the Christmas Week champions, but no one is complaining too much.
