On Tuesday, I told you I started to get on this kind of weird coffee trend. Here's how day two has been so far.

If you're not familiar with what I'm doing check this out.

Basically, putting two tablespoons of butter in your morning coffee, in place of breakfast, is supposed to help you focus and drop weight.

On Tuesday, I explained my concern over lack of nutrition.

That concern is still very valid, but I did make it through most of day one with success. I didn't really overeat during the day, and I'm confident that has to do with putting the butter in my coffee.

I will be totally transparent, where I failed was into the evening.

Let's just say I had some drinks after the Fat Tuesday party. That's really not related to the my breakfast.

On to day two. I didn't have an early class today, so I awoke about 8:30 a.m. for work. I blended my coffee, butter and coconut oil and it just didn't seem to pick me up. I actually felt edgy on my way into work, unlike day one when I felt perfect. I made it until about 1 p.m., then I had a banana and a few tangerines, and felt much better. Could the two beers I had Tuesday night have caused a minor hangover? (21-year-old Josh would be ashamed.)

Here's the thing, though: I'm not hungry.

At no point between this morning and now (around 3:30 p.m.) have I felt starved. In terms of calorie counting, this is working out really well.

Again, in terms of nutrition, I'm still not on board. I'm going to tweak my diet a bit for dinner to see if I can make up for the lost nutrition this morning. Typically I don't eat the most healthy of dinners, so this might be possible.

Day Two Verdict

I'm winning on appetite suppression, winning on carbs, losing on nutrition and undecided about energy and overall feeling.

More updates tomorrow.
