Bizarre Auction Based On Duration of Old Man’s Life

A 73-year-old man recently filed for bankruptcy and it has snowballed into one of the most bizarre auctions in recent memory. At some point in his life, this man won a lottery prize granting him one thousand dollars every month. As part of his bankruptcy the court has ordered him to auction off this lottery prize. On January 7, 2016 the auction will take place and whoever wins will receive one thousand dollars for the rest of the old man's life.

So essentially, people's bids are a gamble on how long they expect the old man to continue living.
