Are You Getting Enough Sleep? New Sleep Recommendations Released
Are you tired? Are your kids always whiny? Maybe the whole house isn't getting enough sleep! The National Sleep Foundation released a new study that breaks down sleep recommendations tailored to a person's age.
WOOD-TV 8 reports on this study that included 18 scientists who reviewed 300 sleep studies, they found that children need more sleep that what was originally recommended.
Here are the new suggestions:
- Newborn to 3 months: 14-17 hours
- 4 to 11 months: 12-15 hours
- 1 to 2 years: 11-14 hours
- 3 to 5 years: 10-13 hours
- 6 to 13 years: 9-11 hours
- 14 to 17 years: 8-10 hours
- 18 to 25 years: 7-9 hours
- 26 to 64 years: 7-9 hours
- 65 or older: 7-8 hours
So, if you really want to sleep like a baby, get ready for a good 15 hour slumber!
