2. Michigan invented the modern weekend when Henry Ford started the modern production line and 40hr work week.

3. We have the best breweries around!

4. Michiganders can always use/point to their hand map.

5. Sleeping Bear Dunes was named the most beautiful place in America.

6. Many of your favorite cereals are from Michigan.

7.The best sandwiches you will ever get are at Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor.

8. No matter where your allegiances are, Michigan has some pretty cool Universities.

9. The Upper Peninsula acts like Michigan 2.0 with tons of hidden beauties.

10. We got Iggy Pop, grandfather of punk from Muskegon.

11.Stevie Wonder is from Saginaw.

12. Eminem is from Detroit.

13. Madonna is from Bay City and briefly went to U of M.

14. Big Sean is also from Detroit.

15. Motown Records in Detroit had many great artists such as The Temptations and Marvin Gaye.

16. Serena Williams is from Saginaw.

17. Taylor Lautner is from our very own Grand Rapids!

18. Carhartt coats hail from Dearborn, Michigan.

19. Eastern Market in Detroit has been operating and serving food for over 170 years!

20. Michigan is the home of GM, Ford, and Chrysler.

21. Mackinac Island is were fudge is born....and dies (YUMMM)

22. Islamic Center in Dearborn is the largest in America.

23. Our sports teams have the most dedicated fans ( through thick and thin)

24.  The Red Wings have the longest playoff streak of any major sport.

25.Calvin Johnson has the catching radius of a two car garage.

26. Beyonce is a Michigan fan.

27.You can find Superman ice cream pretty much everywhere.

28. We have Fago.

29. We have Vernor's.

30. We do Lent right....Paczki Day (also yumm)

31.We grow 70 to 75 % of the tart cherries in the U.S.

32 Shatila bakery in Dearborn has the best baklava.

33. The Detroit Art Institute has pieces by Van Gogh and Rembrandt.

34. There is also great public art such as Artprize.
