Over the past few weeks we've been telling you about the new city ordinance in Grand Rapids that will allow residents to have backyard chickens, new fees have been announced.

WOOD-TV 8 reports that an initial permit, good for one year, will cost $50. The process includes city employees checking lot sizes, plans for coops, and confirm the number of chicken in a given backyard.
