Before you gift a candle to someone this Christmas or add it to your home, check which one you're buying first.

The Yankee Candle Company, along with the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, have issued a voluntary recall of 31,000 of the Luminous Collection candles because of a potential laceration hazard.

According to a statement from the company's website,

...when the candle is lit, the glass jar may crack...

therefore causing injury. Yankee candle made the recall after receiving customer feedback. However, no one was reported injured.

There are six candles, in a glass squared-shape, being recalled in the Luminous Collection:

  • Sea Salt & Coral
  • Blackberry & Sage
  • Apple Blossom & Melon
  • Sugarcane & Honey
  • Pine & Sandalwood
  • Cinnamon & Cedar

You can compare the UPC codes to the list here. They were sold in stores and online between September and November 2016.

Customers who purchased any of these candles can return it to any Yankee Candle for a full refund.
