The Grandville team has made the decision to play the game despite the sudden death of star Ryan Fischer.

A Grandville High School senior star student and hockey player has died overnight.

Ryan Fischer died at his home in Grandville. As of now, the cause of death is unknown.

Fischer was a player on the Grandville High School hockey team, which is scheduled to play in the state semi-finals tonight at 7:30pm. Grandville is still planning to play their game Detroit Catholic Central in the Division 1 semi-finals.

He had a 4.0 grade point average, was a member of the National Honor Society, and was hoping to go to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point after graduation this spring.
