Dating a co-worker. While I always thought this was a huge no-no, it turns out more people do it than you think.

A study from Career Builder found that more than a third of workers find love in the workplace. The national survey of 3,056 people was conducted online by Harris Poll for CareerBuilder from November to December 2014.

This really makes sense because most of us spend the majority of time with the people we work with. It's only natural that feelings might develop if the situation is right.

Think about the time you fell in love with someone you went to school with. It's the same concept right? However, doing this at work is a bit more taboo, depending on your company.

The survey found that 37 percent of people have dated a co-worker and 30 percent of those relationships turned into marriage. That's a pretty promising number!

As far as where they begin, 12 percent said feelings developed after hours like during happy hour. Of the people who developed a relationship in the office, 36 percent say it's best to keep it a secret.

Here's where it gets really taboo: 25 percent say they have dated someone higher up, like the boss. About one in five (19 percent) said they have had an affair with a co-worker where at least one person was married.

Is there a bad side to this? Well, yes.

Five percent said they have left a job because a relationship went sour.

So, it's not ALL bad. But be careful if you plan on heading down that road!
