She left her 6-month-old and 2-year-old strapped in their car seats while interviewing for a job in Arizona. Police estimate the temperature inside the car reached beyond 100 degrees.

Shanesha Taylor's child care plans fell through at the last minute. "It was a moment of desperation," the unemployed mother told the Today show. "It was me knowing my family was in crisis and knowing that I had to make a choice between providing for my children or caring for my children.

Shanesha was arrested back in March, but just a week ago prosecutors agreed to drop the felony child abuse charges. The agreement came as part of a settlement that will require Shanesha to complete substance abuse and parenting programs.

Shanesha attracted major support after her mugshot hit the media and attracted immediate sympathy. Money was raised, and as part of the settlement she must put the $115,000 raised into an education trust fund for her children.

A big part of this story was the discussion that was created about the poor and unemployed.

Shanesha's children are with family as she faces hearings to regain custody.

Parents, how do you feel about this? Do you sympathize with Shanesha's situation?
