As school starts up again, students have papers, projects, and research to look forward too. Three Western Michigan University graduate students are going about their studies in an usual way.

In a research project that's unparalleled nationwide, the first-year occupational therapy students will live in Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids alongside its residents for 19 months, Fox 17 reports.

Around 80 seniors live at Clark Retirement Community.

One of the residents, Charles Lundstrom, a retired attorney, told Fox 17,

"I hope they’re very inquisitive, I hope they ask a lot of questions, and I hope that we can have a real discourse. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”

The goal of the study is to improve senior care. Among other things, the students will be researching breaking through aging stereotypes and studying the effects of loneliness.
