Western Michigan University is now home to a particularly adorable world record. The university gathered a whopping 1,201 couples who wanted to renew their vows…at the same time.

The mass group of lovebirds included couples from Canada and Japan and one from the WMU class of 1943. Even the college's president John Dunn and his wife, Linda Dunn, stepped up to be part of the record.

The event took place during Homecoming weekend at the University's Heritage Hall.

"As far as we know, this is one of the first large group world records held in Kalamazoo," WMU Director of Engagement Renee Pearl told MLive.com. "Plus it's a great point of pride for our university to have so many Broncos and fans of Broncos to come out and participate."

An official from Guinness was on hand and verified that Western Michigan beat the previous record of 1,087 couples who said “I do” again at Ohio's Miami University back in 2009.

Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell officiated the ceremony. There was also free cake, live bands and a Champagne toast.

By the way, to top it all off, WMU's undefeated football team won their Homecoming game Saturday night, 45-30.
