A couple of comments on Facebook got me to thinking, why is it that tickets to concerts cost so much now a days. I *THINK* I have it figured out.

So, in my line of work I hear about people talking about ticket prices all the time.

It SUCKS paying a ton of money to go to a concert ... no disagreement from me on that. However, the problem I feel is two-fold.

No one was injured in the making of this video.

The problems I feel boil down to one real issue. Money - and who makes it.

You could put on a concert and say every ticket is $1. Someone will buy every single ticket and sell it for $5 just to turn a quick buck.

That's just how capitalism works. Buy low sell high.

If people are willing to spend $5 on concert tickets, you sell them for $5. Until someone buys you out and sells the tickets for $10.

It's a vicious cycle, right?

You have to wonder 'what's the solution here' ... aside from making ticket reselling websites illegal.

I would love to say "We do our part." by giving out free tickets to the show. However I can't tell you the number of times I've done that and went to say hello to the winners at a concert and found out ... yep, they sold the tickets to someone else.

*sigh*

Ah well, such is life.
