The Golden Globes Are Out 

The nominations for the Golden Globe Awards were announced yesterday, and the movies "12 Years a Slave" and "American Hustle" led the way with SEVEN apiece.  "The Butler" got totally shut out.  The ceremony airs live on Sunday, January 12th.

Jennifer Lawrence Got Her Accent for "American Hustle" from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" 

JENNIFER LAWRENCE didn't exactly go "method" to get her accent for the movie "American Hustle".  She picked it up from "The Real Housewives of New Jersey".

In an interview with MTV News she said, quote, "I've been watching a lot of reality TV shows and those reality TV shows have a lot of New Jersey women, so I can't say that it's not from them.  I wish I could, I really wish I could."

Without anyone even knowing it was coming, BEYONCÉ released an entire new album on iTunes this morning.  Guests include Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Drake, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Beyoncé's Destiny's Child bandmates Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland.  It's got 14 tracks, plus each song as an extra VIDEO track. 

Only 3% of People Who Make a New Year's Resolution to Lose Weight Actually Do

According to a new survey, 72% of people have made a New Year's resolution to lose weight before.  And 69% of us have FAILED at it.  In other words, there's only about a 3% success rate.  Still, 70% of us plan to make it our resolution THIS year.

According to a new study, the average family will drive 413 MILES over the next few weeks for Christmas activities.  That includes trips to do Christmas shopping, and trips to see grandparents, in-laws, friends, and other family members.

Six trips to the store to buy food and alcohol, 24 miles.

Three visits to grandparents, 102 miles.

Two visits to in-laws, 72 miles.

Three trips to see other family members and go to their parties, 102 miles.

Two visits to see old friends, 82 miles.

Picking up family on Christmas Day, 19 miles.

Three quick, miscellaneous last-minute trips, 12 miles. 

The Majority of Americans Don't Trust Any Industry . . . But We Especially Don't Trust Tobacco Companies, the Oil Industry, and Facebook

A new survey has found there's not a SINGLE industry that the majority of Americans find trustworthy.  Grocery stores got the BEST ranking, with 30% of us trusting them.  Hospitals came in second, at 28%.  Tobacco companies came in last, at 3% . . . and oil companies came in second-to-last, at 4%.

A Man Falls Into an Icy Pond . . . and Survives by Getting Naked and Climbing Into His Guitar Case?

On Tuesday, a 31-year-old man was walking in Oklahoma when he got lost . . . and fell into an icy pond.  It was 35 degrees outside, so he stripped off his freezing wet clothes, and contorted his body into his GUITAR CASE to stay warm.  A few hours later, some people found him, he was rushed to the hospital, and he's going to be okay.

A 16-Year-Old Drunk Driver Killed Four People. . . But the Judge Let Him Off Because He's Rich and Doesn't Know Any Better? 

A 16-year-old in Texas killed four people while driving drunk this past June, and could have gotten 20 years in prison.  But the judge only gave him PROBATION, because his lawyers argued that he had "affluenza" . . . where you're so rich and spoiled, you don't know right from wrong.  And yes, it's a made-up condition.
