HIGHLIGHTS:  When LORDE re-Tweeted KIM KARDASHIAN's butt pic and captioned it "mom", she wasn't criticizing Kim.  She says she meant to say, quote, "adopt me / be my second mom / I think of you as a mother figure you are so epic."

FULL STORY:  We all know that LORDE re-Tweeted KIM KARDASHIAN's butt pic along with the caption "mom" . . . leading everyone to report that Lorde was CRITICIZING Kim for being a mom and posing nude.  But it turns out that's not even remotely what she meant.

A fan messaged Lord and asked her if it was hypocritical of her as a feminist to attack Kim for "doing whatever she wants with her body."  And Lorde clarified with a post on her website.

She said she used "mom" as a COMPLIMENT, meaning, quote, "adopt me / be my second mom / I think of you as a mother figure you are so epic."

She added, quote, "I think she gets even more beautiful and sexy all the time like a fine-ass wine, and of course has every right to showcase that."  And she said she messaged Kim and it's all good.

(Okay, so Lorde doesn't think there's anything wrong with the pic, and that's fine.  But there's a deeper issue regarding feminism to discuss.  On the one hand, feminism ought to mean that women can do WHATEVER THEY WANT.)

(But still . . . aren't there things a woman can do that SET WOMEN BACK, as a whole, and work AGAINST feminism?  And isn't it possible that allowing yourself to be totally objectified like this, and reduced to a single, sexualized body part, could be one of those things?)

Kim Kardashian Randoms 

1.  NAYA RIVERA joked about her opposition to the KIM KARDASHIAN butt pic with a photo of herself and Instagram founder Kevin Systrom . . . with the hashtag "InstagramGotMeInTrouble".

2.  JOE JONAS Photoshopped his brother NICK's head onto one of Kim's nude pics, along with the caption "What a tease".  But it's NOTHING compared to the version SHAQUILLE O'NEAL did featuring CHARLES BARKLEY.

3.  Last week, Buzzfeed.com mocked up Kim's butt photo to make it look more "real".  Well, that and some other, similar pics have been presented on the Internet as legit, unretouched versions.  They're not.

"Paper" magazine has already said they did very minimal retouching of the photo.  And so far, they have NOT released an unretouched version.

4.  Could Kim Kardashian's waist in that butt photo be real?  That seems like a stretch, but KHLOE KARDASHIAN is doing the same "waist training" regimen that Kim does, and she showed off the results on Instagram.  It seems to be working.

"Dumb and Dumber To" Is the New #1 Movie in America

"Dumb and Dumber To" is the new #1 movie in the country.  It made $38.1 million this weekend.  The first "Dumb and Dumber" made $16.4 million when it opened 20 years ago.  Adjusted for inflation, that works out to about $26 million in today's dollars.

The only other new movie to crack the Top 10 was "Beyond the Lights", which made $6.5 million in 4th place.

Here are this week's Top 10 movies:

HIGHLIGHTS:  There's a new book that tells how some famous movie sounds were made.  For instance, the lightsabers in "Star Wars" are a combination of the motors in an old projector and TV interference . . . and the sound of the boulder in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was actually a Honda Civic rolling down a gravel driveway.

FULL STORY:  There's a new book called "The Sonic Boom", about how sound and music affect us when they're used in visual media.  More importantly, it includes the REAL story behind six famous movie sounds.

Darth Vader's breathing in the "Star Wars" movies was created by someone sucking air through a scuba mask.  And the lightsabers are a combination of the motors in an old projector and TV interference through an unshielded microphone.

The roar of the T-Rex in "Jurassic Park" was a mixture of a Jack Russell terrier, a whale, lions, alligators, tigers, a koala, and a baby elephant.

The rolling boulder in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was a Honda Civic rolling down a gravel driveway.

Spider-Man's web shooting is a combination of a cat spitting, the crack of a bullwhip, and a "processed model rocket launch."

Alfonso Ribeiro Might Be Forced Off "Dancing with the Stars" Because of the Carlton Dance 

HIGHLIGHTS:  ALFONSO RIBEIRO may be forced to withdraw from "Dancing with the Stars" after injuring his back during rehearsals last week.  On Saturday, he Tweeted, quote, "I'm working really hard to be able to dance Monday.  Keep the prayers coming.  Love you all."

FULL STORY:  ALFONSO RIBEIRO may be forced to withdraw from "Dancing with the Stars" . . . and it's all because he tried to please YOU.

Several weeks ago, Alfonso incorporated his infamous "Carlton Dance" from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" into one of his routines . . . and injured his groin.

And while rehearsing for tonight's show the other day, he injured his back because he was overcompensating for that groin injury.

HIGHLIGHTS:  The new version of the charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" was recorded over the weekend.  It's for Ebola this time.  Participants included Bono, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin, Sam Smith, and Robert Plant.

FULL STORY:  They recorded the new version of the BAND AID charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" inEngland on Saturday, and it's being released today.  This time it's to benefit the fight against Ebola.

The artists on it include:  Bono, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin from Coldplay, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Robert Plant, Elbow, Seal, Sinead O'Connor, Queen drummer Roger Taylor, and Bastille.

It's being released for download today, and a CD version will come out in three weeks.

One person who did NOT participate was ADELE.  Organizer BOB GELDOF says he reached out to her people, but was told, quote, "She's not doing anything at all at the moment."

Adele's reps did say, however, that she's DONATING to Oxfam's Ebola Appeal.

Dave Grohl Doesn't Care How Much He's Paid for Streaming, He Just Wants People to Hear His Music 

HIGHLIGHTS:  DAVE GROHL doesn't care how much people pay to stream his music, he just wants them to hear it.  He says, quote, "Give [people] your music.  And then go play a show.  [If] they like hearing your music, they'll go see a show.  To me it's that simple."

FULL STORY:  In the wake of TAYLOR SWIFT yanking her music off Spotify, DAVE GROHL says he, quote, "doesn't [effing] care" how much people pay to stream his music, he just wants them to HEAR it.

He explains, quote, "I don't care if you pay $1 or [effing] $20 for it, just listen to the [effing] song.  But I can understand how other people would object to that."

Dave says there's too much talk about "technology" and the "delivery" of music . . . and not enough about the actual art of performing.

He says, quote, "You want people to [effing] listen to your music?  Give them your music.  And then go play a show.  [If] they like hearing your music, they'll go see a show.  To me it's that simple, and I think it used to work that way."

(On one hand, Dave already made his money.  He's worth an estimated $260 million, so he's not hurting for a few bucks here and there.  But Taylor Swift isn't either.  She's already worth around $200 million.)

Urban Quick Hits:  Usher, "106 & Park", and Timbaland 

1.  Remember that new single USHER was releasing exclusively in Honey Nut Cheerios boxes at Walmart?  Well, the song, "Clueless", has made its way online.  (You can find it on YouTube.  Here's a link.)

2.  After a 14-year run, BET's "106 & Park" is leaving TV.  The final episode is airing on December 19th.  BET will continue to produce various specials throughout the year, including its annual New Year's Eve show, "106 & Party".

That said, the show is being "re-formatted" to become an online-only series.

The network says, quote, "As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue '106 & Park's' role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture.  We'll have more information to share about how that is to roll out very soon."

3.  TIMBALAND posted a series of videos on Instagram, bashing Lifetime's controversial Aaliyah biopic, "Aaliyah: Princess of R&B", which premiered on Saturday night.

Among other things, he said, quote, "People keep asking me if I'm watching that bull[crap].  Evidently not.  No way.  Not Timbo."

Danny DeVito is 70.  Roomed with admitted sex addict Michael Douglas when they were just starting out.  Height:  5 feet even.

ISAAC HANSON! is 34.  The eldest Hanson!  He used to be the fugliest, but puberty wasn't kind to his younger brother Zac.  Biggest smash?  1997's INSUFFERABLE "MMMBop".  Isaac had surgery in October of 2007 to treat a pulmonary embolism.  The following December, he had surgery to remove a rib that was pressing against a vein.

Rachel McAdams is 36.  I liked her well enough in "Wedding Crashers", but it wasn't until the movie "Morning Glory" that I realized what a GLORIOUS BACKSIDE she has.

Of course we'd be derelict in our duties if we didn't mention her work in "The Notebook" and "Mean Girls".  She's also Irene Adler in the "Sherlock Holmes" movies.

Diane Neal is 39.  A.D.A. Casey Novak on "Law & Order:  SVU" until getting disbarred for recklessly prosecuting a rapist.  These days she pops up every once in a while on "NCIS" as that chick from the Coast Guard.  She has fire down below, you know.
