Game One of the World Series Tanked Big-Time in the Ratings

Game One of the World Series only averaged 12.2 million viewers on Tuesday night, which was bad enough to make it the lowest-rated World Series opener in modern history.  It's unclear how far that goes back, but it's at least 30 years.

One factor could've been that the game was a blowout, with the San Francisco Giants easily beating the Kansas City Royals, 7-to-1.  Another factor could be the fact that Kansas City is a small market . . . or because this is the Giants' third time in the World Series in the past five years.
