If you're dying for Doritos or aching for some avocados, your body might be trying to tell you something- and it's not just that you're hungry. It turns out, there's a big difference between being hungry and having a sudden urge for a specific food. It might mean that you have a nutrition deficiency.

If you're craving chocolate: chocolate is high in magnesium, so if you're craving this, you might be deficient in minerals that are vital for your skin and hair. Also, if you drink too much alcohol, tea, coffee or carbonated beverages, you can deplete levels of magnesium.

If you're craving ice: it might sound weird, but if you're craving ice, you might be anaemic and have an iron deficiency. If you're suffering from low energy and fatigue and have a hankering for ice, contact your doctor.

If you're craving cheese: if you want to literally cut the cheese, you might be low on calcium. Calcium helps form and maintain healthy teeth and bones, it also plays a vital role in nerve and muscle function.
