Western Michigan University Sets World Record

Saturday was Western Michigan University’s 93^rd homecoming and they celebrated by setting a world record.

WMU set the record for the most marriage vow renewals in the same place.  It happened during the homecoming game and was officiated by Kalamazoo’s Mayor, Bobby Hopwell.

A university official says they renewed the wedding vows of 1,201 couples, breaking the past record of 1,087.  A claim which was verified by Guinness Book of World Records.  They had a judge on site during the ceremony, who also presented the school with the award.
