The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of West Michigan starting March 13 at 3:49 AM.

Here is the advisory issued for Kent County:

The Winter Weather advisory is in effect from now until tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM Tuesday.

Hazardous Weather: Periods of snow are expected from today into tonight.  Snowfall will range from 2 to 5 inches across the area.

Impacts: Slippery travel will develop today and continue into tonight.  The Monday morning and evening commutes will be affected by falling snow and slick spots on area roads.  Plan for some extra travel time today as you will need to slow down for conditions.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions: The Michigan Department of Transportation reminds motorists to adjust speeds based on the conditions...and to take it slow in ice and snow.  Weather preparedness information is available on line at www.Ready.gov/Winter.
