The Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Carbon Media Group have set up a free video stream of a pair of nesting bald eagles. The eagles are at the Platte River State Fish Hatchery in Benzie County near Beulah.

The CarbonTV Eagle Cam live streams 24/7. There are also taped clips of the eagles eating a rabbit, building and clearing their nest, and being visited by great horned owls.

The nest is 100 feet above the ground by the Platte River. An egg was laid over the weekend. The eagles will hopefully hatch and rear their eaglets this summer.

“This pair of eagles have been regular visitors to this nest for the past three years,” said Ed Eisch, DNR fish production manager.

Bald eagles were once an endangered species. They have been the U.S. national emblem since 1782.
