ArtPrize begins September 21 and volunteers are still needed.

You may volunteer through ArtPrize or directly through a venue.  ArtPrize Exhibition Centers such as UICA, GRAM, Grand Rapids Public Museum, and Cathedral Square recruit their own volunteers for ArtPrize.  They are all still in need of additional help.

The hours of work put in by hundreds of volunteers have helped to make ArtPrize an amazing success in it's first two years.  Here's more on how you can contribute to that success by volunteering through a venue or an exhibition center.

  • Cathedral Square is looking for help in voter registration, greeter/docent, gift shop, and more.  Sign up to volunteer here.
  • The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts is looking for help at the front desk, concessions, and gallery monitors.  UICA still has over 100 volunteer shifts available.  Click here to volunteer through UICA. For more information contact Becca Schaub at becca@uica.org or 616-454-7000 x 17.
  • The Grand Rapids Art Museum uses hundreds of volunteers during ArtPrize.  Opportunities at GRAM include:  guest services, voter registration, membership, wayfinder, gallery attendants, and more.  Click here for detailed descriptions and to volunteer through GRAM.
  • The Grand Rapids Public Museum needs customer service volunteers.  Customer service volunteers help greet and direct visitors during ArtPrize.  They also receive free parking.  Contact a volunteer coordinator for more information at 616-929-1737.

This is only a partial list of venues and exhibition centers looking for help.  If there is somewhere else you'd like to volunteer just contact them and ask if they are looking for help.  Odds are they still are.
