A 14-month-old girl in Philadelphia went on one wild ride before she ever had a chance to get on the train.

The girl was in her stroller on a subway platform when she rolled onto the tracks.

An official with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority explained what happened:

What it looks like to us is that the mother became distracted by something, didn’t apply the brake on the stroller and the stroller was able to move off the platform and onto the tracks.”

The mother and others in the vicinity jumped onto the tracks to help save the baby, while police ordered an oncoming train to stop. The baby was brought to a hospital for a cut on her forehead.

It should also be noted that the item that jumps out of the stroller once it hit the tracks is either a towel or a bag – not the baby.

The full video doesn’t get released until Monday which is when all of us ‘Office’ junkies will be finally done crying after the finale on Thursday.

Gervais came up with the original idea for the ‘Office’ series and started it back in England before it came to the US. It has had a much longer run in the US however, that’s only because Gervais put the brakes on the UK version when he felt that the characters were starting to get too personal.

It’s actually not surprising that it works because they are after all the same film with the same plot. What makes it cool is that the films come from two completely different generations and the music from this generation actually works with their cinematography skills.

It would be interesting to see if music from their film would go with the movie that was just released last week.

It’s kind of weird because it looks almost like the bird flew right to him. However, it’s probably just the camera angle that makes it look that way. The bird flies towards the guy, he reaches his arm out and catches the bird with just ONE hand. It’s pretty amazing to say the least.

The guys were out quail hunting, hopefully they let this little birdie live.

Yikes. It’s like in a horror movie when the deadly fog gradually creeps closer and closer, gobbling up all living things in its path. Except it’s made of ice.

In the startling, nearly seven-minute video shot on Saturday by Darla Johnson, ice atop Mille Lacs Lake in Minnesota makes its way off the surface of the lake and onto the land, appearing to grow larger and larger as 40-mph winds push it farther and farther inland.

The “ice tsunami,” as it’s being called, completely covered some areas that had just recently been people’s backyard lawns. It even managed to break through some windows and doors into people’s homes.

“It was just pushing and breaking and pushing and breaking,” Johnson told CNN. That seems an apt description: you can hear the ice moving along the ground, shards repeatedly breaking off and then getting swallowed right up by the ever-progressing monstrous sheet of white doom as it ceaselessly marches forward.

This guy is really not the brightest. During some kind of safari or something his buddies challenged him to charge an elephant. Even though the elephant seems kinda freaked out about the little tiny dot coming towards it, it still backs off. Good for the guy but he just keeps charging at it. Wouldn’t you take your one charge and back off?

I guess that’s what happens when people drink too much.

As good as David Bowie‘s ‘Space Oddity’ is, it’s still rather surreal watching someone perform it from space.

The above video was recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield whilst onboard the International Space Station. The upload — which has gone viral since being put on YouTube — is said to have taken six months to make and has already received over one million views in just a days’ time. It seems that Hadfield is returning to Earth an internet superstar. Not a bad welcome home party.

Sometimes you just feel the music. Everyone has had that moment in their car when they get a little too enthusiastic while belting out the tunes only to find your being watched by judgeful eyes in the vehicle next to you.

One woman on a recent American Airlines flight out of Los Angeles just wanted to belt out Whitney Houston‘s classic ‘I Will Always Love You,’ but unfortunately for her this caused some alarm among other passengers. The New York bound flight was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City and the woman was removed from the flight. The woman was interviewed and released without any charges. Ghyslain Raza was a viral video superstar before most people knew what a viral video was. And the experience almost killed him.

You probably know Raza as “The Star Wars Kid,” who in 2002 was caught on tape (yes, old-fashioned video tape) awkwardly and enthusiastically using a golf ball retriever to imitate Darth Maul’s lightsaber moves in ‘Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace.’

Classmates of the then 14-year-old from Quebec, Canada created an electronic file from the video and in 2003 it was uploaded onto the internet, unbeknownst to Raza.

It’s hard to get an exact number on how many times it was viewed, because the clip predates YouTube by a couple years, but some estimates have it being watched close to a billion times. His lightsaber moves also ended up being spoofed by ‘South Park’, Stephen Colbert and ‘American Dad.’

And for all of this, Raza was miserable. That’s because his notoriety made him a target for intense bullying at school. There were even calls from his tormentors for Raza to kill himself.

“No matter how hard I tried to ignore people telling me to commit suicide, I couldn’t help but feel worthless, like my life wasn’t worth living,” Raza said in a recent interview with MacLean’s, which are his first public comments on the video.

Raza’s depression was such that he was sent to a psychiatric ward. But he was eventually able to get his life back on track and at 25 he is a law school graduate.

He says he’s finally speaking out so he can help others who might be experiencing cyber-bullying. We can only hope that the internet has matured over the last 10 years and that the viral video stars of today are appreciated, not mocked, for the few minutes of entertainment they provide us all.

So, there’s this fad that’s kind of loosing steam (so, we’re kind of wondering why these teens are still doing it) called Gallon Smashing.

Basically, you go to the store. Grab a gallon of milk and pretend to drop it (so it breaks) so milk goes everywhere.

Well, this kid should be crying over spilled milk because it looks like he broke his jaw in it after smashing some gallons. OUCH!

So, basically he redid David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” FROM SPACE! Which is really KICK ASS in our opinion. He even has a super cool music video about it any everything!

If movies and TV have taught us anything, it’s that all mothers are NOT created equal. While some fictional moms might be willing to play the doting matriarch, others engage in twisted mind games, dole out severe corporal punishment and even commit murder most foul. While part of us thinks Lori Grimes from ‘The Walking Dead‘ has gotten a bad rap as a mom, let’s look at the evidence, shall we? She can’t keep track of her son (see the “Where’s Carl?” meme), considered taking a handful of morning after pills to terminate her pregnancy and even sped off in the night after husband Rick, leaving Carl behind and crashing her car in the process. Lastly, her (SPOILER ALERT) ghost won’t leave Rick alone. Granted, it’s difficult being a good parent during a zombie apocalypse, but come on. Somebody needs a refresher course on child care right away.

2. Stifler’s Mom, ‘American Pie’

Stifler’s mom from ‘American Pie’ is every young boy’s fantasy, but she’s an absolute nightmare as a parent. Most teenagers are easily embarrassed by their parents anyway, but when your mom is a MILF (the movie helped coined the term) who sleeps with your friends, it’s a whole other thing.

3. Joan Crawford, ‘Mommie Dearest’

Sure, moms can be strict sometimes, but Joan Crawford takes it way, way too far in ‘Mommie Dearest,’ the movie based on the memoir of the same name. In fact, she berates and beats adoptive daughter Christina throughout the entire film and, in one memorable scene, ensures none of us will ever look at wire hangers the same way again.

4. Margaret White, ‘Carrie’

Nothing’s wrong with teaching your kid the importance of religion, but Margaret White in ‘Carrie’ takes it to the extreme. She’s an insane zealot who shames her telekinetic daughter for menstruating, locks her in a closet, beats her with an abridged Bible, throws tea in her face and tries to kill her by stabbing her in the back after her famously disastrous prom. Jeez. Thanks, Mom. Way to be supportive.

5. Betty Draper, ‘Mad Men’

Don Draper may not be the greatest dad, but ex-wife Betty takes the cake when it comes to bad parenting. She’s vain, detached, selfish and a bigger child than any of her kids. And as her own youth fades, she becomes resentful of her children, especially daughter Sally.

In one unforgettable scene in season 3, son Bobby complains that he’s bored. Betty’s advice? “Go bang your head against a wall,” she suggests. “Only boring people are bored.” Wow! That’s quite a parenting gem. Remind us to never do rainy day crafts with you, Betty.

6. Kate McCallister, ‘Home Alone’

Moms can be forgiven for sometimes being absentminded, but there’s really no excusing Kate McCallister when she forgets to bring son Kevin along for a family trip to Paris in ‘Home Alone.’

To make matters worse, she loses track of Kevin a second time in the sequel and the young boy ends up in New York City while the rest of the family flies to Florida for Christmas. Better get that kid a leash.

7. Mrs. Voorhees, ‘Friday the 13th’

Sure, Mrs. Voorhees loves her son like any good mom would, but she gets way too stabby about it in ‘Friday the 13th.’ In the classic horror flick, the killer mom runs amok in Camp Crystal Lake murdering teenagers as a way to avenge son Jason who drowned there years before.

Of course, Mrs. Voorhees dies at the end of the movie and Jason himself assumes slashing duties in the many movies that follow. As a mom, she’d be so proud.

8. Norma Bates, ‘Bates Motel’

‘Bates Motel,’ which is currently airing on A&E, takes some liberties with the story established in the classic 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film ‘Psycho,’ but Norma Bates is just as manipulative, co-dependent and borderline incestuous as we expected her to be. In other words, she’s got the perfect parenting style if you want your son to become a cross-dressing serial killer.

9. Peg Bundy, ‘Married…With Children’

Peg Bundy from ‘Married…With Children’ is the kind of mom who prefers to eat bonbons on the couch, watch daytime TV shows and lavish herself with expensive gifts rather than be a parent. Oh, and her maiden name is “Wanker.” Need we say more? Love the kitschy bouffant and skintight pants, though.

10. Mary Jones, ‘Precious’

If Peg Bundy represents the comedic side of being a bad mom, Mary Jones from ‘Precious’ is exactly the opposite. This chain-smoking unemployed mom is unimaginably cruel to her daughter and even turns a blind eye as Precious is sexually abused by her father and has two children. Just goes to show — your mom deserves a big hug right now.

There are sharp shooters and then there are razor sharp shooters.

In a display of 3-point shooting accuracy that makes Stephen Curry look like Helen Keller, Laurie Koehn sank a mind-boggling 132 of 135 triples in a five-minute span.

Five minutes! That’s longer than the time it took to realize the last ‘Die Hard’ was going to be a major disappointment.

Koehn used to play for the Kansas State women’s basketball team and left school as the NCAA’s all-time leader in trifectas made among women. She went on to play in the WNBA, spending last season with the Atlanta Dream.

“I’ve made 127 threes in a row before and I’ve been over 100 in a row numerous times,” Kohen said. “The thing that was unique about that drill is I’ve never tried to do it with speed before. When I’ve done it before, I’d be in a rhythm. This drill takes away your rhythm and fatigues your arms a lot more than you would think.”

Koehn tried nailing as many three-point shots as possible in a five-minute stretch a couple times before, but she struggled to only hit 115 and then 118 before she made like Stella and got her groove back by netting 132.

Koehn, who says she’s nailed 100 three point shots in a row several times before, doesn’t plan to play in the WNBA this season, although she’s eyeing the possibility of playing in Australia, which is really just America’s way of repaying the good people Down Under for giving us the music of Men at Work.
