University of Michigan Fraternities Cause $50,000 In Damages at Northern Michigan Resorts
Three University of Michigan fraternities left a path of destruction at two resorts up north this past weekend.
9 & 10 News reports the University of Michigan chapter of the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity inflicted upward of $50,000 worth of damage to Treetops Resorts in Gaylord. The resort's manager says the fraternity hosted a large party that resulted in a mess that included food, alcohol, damage to the walls and carpet, and broken ceiling tiles and furniture.
Police were called to escort some U-M frat members from Treetops in the aftermath of the damage.
Two other U-M fraternities wreaked similar damages about an hour north at Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs. Up to a dozen private condos were damaged there, according to 9 & 10 News.
