A U.S Navy Vet Howard Kamarata was in need of a prosthetic hand after he cut off four of his fingers in an electric saw accident and he had three of them amputated. His friend Casey Barrett who is an engineer told Kamarata that he could make one for less than $100 with various items from Home Depot. According to Barrett the raw materials are less than $20 but to get the parts printed could cost anywhere from $50 to $150 depending on where you go.
