Welcome to the future!

We can already use smartphones with certain card swipers at retail stores, but soon banks will be rolling out ATMs that don't require cards.

A report from the LA Times says the nation's three largest banks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, and JPMorgan Chase, will be bringing these ATMs to customers over the next few months.

What does "a few months" mean? For Bank of America it's May, Wells Fargo is this summer, and Chase says sometime in the second half of the year.

Personally, I haven't exactly jumped on the Android Pay (or for Apple users "Apple Pay") bandwagon. I'll admit, mainly because I'm old school and feel somehow like that's an insecure move, though experts would probably argue it's a more secure way to pay.

Regardless of how we feel, there will be more options to pay as we check months off the calendar for 2016.
